Rewrite the Story (Fr)
As part of the international project involving young people from Romania, Spain, and France, titled “Rewriting the Story, Empowering Youth against Bullying”, the stories shared have a deeply educational and preventive purpose regarding the phenomenon of bullying. This project provides a safe and creative space where students can share their personal experiences, thereby contributing to raising awareness and combating a phenomenon that affects an increasing number of young people globally. Through these stories, participants not only express their feelings but also actively contribute to building a culture of empathy and respect within schools.
This section gathers authentic testimonies from students who have experienced bullying.
These stories are sensitive and told with honesty, reflecting both the pain and confusion felt by the victims and the inner strength they found to move forward. Each account offers a unique perspective on how bullying affects students’ daily lives, from the fear of going to school to the impact on self-esteem and relationships with peers and family. They capture difficult moments, as well as moments of resilience and courage, showing that despite painful experiences, there is always the possibility of healing and transforming suffering into valuable lessons. The role of these stories goes beyond simply recounting personal experiences.
They aim to give a voice to those who have been hurt and to make the emotions and real consequences of bullying heard, beyond statistics, numbers, or abstract concepts. Through them, readers, students, teachers, or parents, can gain a deeper understanding of what it means to live through such experiences and how they affect young people’s emotional health and personal development. The stories become tools for emotional education, fostering empathy and sensitivity toward others. Furthermore, these testimonies serve a practical role in preventing bullying and creating a safe and inclusive school environment. They help all educational stakeholders recognize early signs of bullying, understand its long-term impact, and develop effective intervention strategies. By learning from others’ experiences, students can identify inappropriate behaviors, learn to support
one another, and seek help when needed, while teachers and parents can adopt a more empathetic approach to supporting children. In this way, the stories not only inform but also inspire, contributing to the building of a more conscious, responsible, and supportive school community. In conclusion, the “Rewriting the Story, Empowering Youth against Bullying” project demonstrates that every shared experience matters. Students’ testimonies act as a bridge between individual experiences and collective efforts to prevent bullying, showing that vulnerability can be
transformed into strength and that every young person’s voice has the power to generate change. Through these stories, the project successfully combines education with empathy, information with awareness, and personal experience with community responsibility, providing a concrete example of how young people can be active agents of change in a safe and empathetic school environment.
